Indianapolis Microbreweries: A Guide to a Great Time

If delicious craft beer is something you enjoy, then Indianapolis should suit you just fine! Several Indianapolis microbreweries have opened in the last 5 years in just about every neighborhood around the city. Chances are another brewery will open its doors before you can even finish your pint!

Use this guide to find the Indianapolis brewery on your side of town:

North Side Indianapolis

Barley Island has been in Noblesville for several years and continues to make award-winning beers. Visit the brewery to see how the magic happens and then stop by the restaurant for some grub and a pint!

Bier Brewery is open Wednesday through Sunday and offers some exceptional beers. Visit the taproom to taste them all and take home a growler of your favorite.

Broad Ripple Brewpub is Indiana’s first brewpub. They’ve been brewing beer since the 80’s and offer a true English pub experience. Their beer menu is extensive and the food menu offers many great entrees including several vegetarian options.

Brugge Brasserie is open daily and provides a unique experience for its patrons. Stop by for Belgian beers that you’re sure to love. Don’t forget to try the frites!

RAM Fishers hosts a happy hour Monday through Friday and have great growler fill specials. Visit them for delicious food and several noteworthy brews ranging from sippable ciders to powerful IPAs.

Rock Bottom College Park provides well-crafted beers in an inviting atmosphere. Order a bite of food, order a pale ale, and relax outside on the patio to see what’s happening around the lake!

Thr3e Wise Men Brewing Co. is located in the heart of Broad Ripple. Visit this popular brewery for delicious pizzas and a stunning array of house brews.

South Side Indianapolis

Oaken Barrel Brewing Co. has been brewing exceptional beers for over 14 years! They are a south side staple offering a full menu of delectable treats and a perfect beer to pair with it all.

East Side Indianapolis

Black Acre Brewing Co. is a welcomed addition to the east side neighborhood of Irvington. They have an ever-growing beer menu and a small food menu that is nothing to smirk at. Check out their locally sourced meats, cheeses, and other gourmet items.

Triton Brewing Company is located in Fort Benjamin Harrison on the city’s east side. They offer both house standards and seasonal favorites. Don’t be surprised to find a food truck waiting outside with some tasty morsels!

West Side Indianapolis

Black Swan Brewpub, located on the west side in Plainfield, is a hidden gem in Indianapolis. They aim to provide a “unique culinary experience” for customers and pair it all with handcrafted beers. Check out their beer menu for seasonal and standard selections.

Downtown Indianapolis

Flat 12 Bierwerks provides tours and tastings daily and even sell their beer by the keg. Their beer list changes frequently so check the website for a current listing.

Fountain Square Brewing Co. is a newcomer to the Indianapolis beer scene but they’ve already made a name for themselves. Visit their tasting room to try a sip or order a pint.

RAM Indianapolis is located downtown in Indianapolis on Illinois street. Much like its north side partner, you’ll find great appetizers, entrees, and a solid beer selection.

Rock Bottom Downtown Indy is located downtown on Washington Street. Visit them for a full menu of made from scratch food and a beer menu that is sure to impress.

Sun King Brewery is quickly growing and expanding their operation. Stop by on a Friday for $5 growler fills and free tastings!
