Things to do in Indy

Are you a dancing fool? A cocktail connoisseur? Sports fanatic?  You’re in luck because Indianapolis has it all! Use our Indianapolis nightlife bar guide to plan out the perfect evening no matter what you’re interested in.

For the sports fanatic...

Are you ready to watch the big game but not exactly sure where to do it? Here are three of Indy’s favorites for you to try out next time you need a big screen to watch!

The Ale Emporium is located on Indianapolis’ north side at 8617 Allisonville Rd. If you’re looking for a spot to watch the game, stop by and try their famous wings and unforgettable deep dish pizza. They offer an impressive beer selection and a full bar. Space is never an issue, so bring in the whole crew!

Colts Grille is located in the heart of downtown Indy at 110 W. Washington Street. The name says it all, but we’ll say a few words too! Visit the Grille for their signature sandwiches and steaks and don’t forget to sign up for their exclusive online promos. As if all this weren’t enough, they even offer space to host your Fantasy Football draft party if that’s your sort of thing!

Chumley’s Broad Ripple is a well-known establishment in these parts. It has been around for nearly 15 years and boasts one of the best beer tap lists in the city. Come in for pub grub, a cold draft, and big screens to watch some games.

For the dancing queen (or king)...

So you want to bust a move but you’re not sure where to do it. The Vogue might just be the place for you! This venue is located on College Avenue in Broad Ripple and offers live music as well as themed dance nights each week. Come in on a Wednesday for RetroRewind and take a trip back in time to a younger, more awkward self.

Feeling less like Young MC and more like a tango? The Jazz Kitchen in Broad Ripple may be what you're looking for. They host the city’s most popular latin dance party and offer private event space and bold menu that offers Latino/New Orleans infused dishes.

For the cocktail connoisseur...

Indianapolis nightlife doesn’t have to be all about dancing or sports. Sometimes the only thing that sounds good is handmade cocktail from a professional mixologist. Good news! Indianapolis has several great options for you to get your fix. The next time you’re craving a fancy schmancy cocktail, check out one of these Indy originals:

The Libertine is located downtown on E. Washington Street. Their mixologists mix up traditional cocktails as well as house recipe masterpieces.

Just around the bend on Mass Ave. you’ll find the Ball and Biscuit, which serves up fine cocktails, craft beers, and several appetizers as well.

For those who like to rock...

So you don’t like sports and you really can’t dance but you love to hear someone wail on the guitar. If that’s all true, then these are the spots for you to check out!

The Slippery Noodle Inn is Indiana’s oldest bar and they host live blues bands every night of the week. Come in for a cold drink and sit back and listen to the band do their thing. Visit their website to find your favorite act and scope out the drink specials.

Cobblestone Grill is known for their scrumptious culinary treats, but they also offer some of the best live music on the north side. Located in Zionsville on Main Street, this gem hosts regular bands most nights of the week during the summer. Check their website for drink specials and an event calendar.

Okay, you’ve seen our recommendations now we want to hear from you. Where’s your favorite place to kick back in the evenings in Indianapolis?
